SHOT Show 2024 was the largest SHOT Show ever held, with more than 55,400 trade professionals, more than 2,600 exhibitors and nearly 14 miles of aisles across the Venetian Expo and Caesars Forum. The Gun Websites crew covered it with a run of live shows: two Gearing Up workshops, an Ask Us Anything episode of Ask Gun Questions, a two decades of insights podcast, the real story of SHOT Show patches, and After Action reports once the week was over.
SHOT Show 2024 History
The 46th SHOT Show ran January 23 to 26, 2024, with Industry Day at the Range on Monday, January 22. NSSF reported more than 55,400 attendees from 117 countries and every state, more than 2,600 exhibitors and over 821,000 square feet of booths, the largest SHOT Show ever. The aisles stretched more than 13.9 miles, and Caesars Forum was used for the third year in a row alongside the Venetian Expo.
Steve Hornady, president of Hornady Manufacturing, received the NSSF Ken Sedlecky Lifetime Achievement Award. The industry itself was settling into a new normal, with January 2024 marking the 54th straight month of more than one million NICS background checks even as sales cooled from the pandemic peak.
Our Take on SHOT Show 2024
Two decades of covering SHOT Show gives a different view of a record year. The show had grown far beyond guns into optics, apparel, outdoor gear, suppliers and services, and the challenge for anyone attending was no longer finding something new but deciding what was worth the walk. That is why the crew put so much into preparation in 2024, from booth lists and meeting plans to what to pack for four days on the floor.
Patches remained one of the best parts of the show. The crew’s 2024 patch video made the case that, for a lot of people, the patches are the real story of SHOT Show.
