SHOT Show 2025 marked twenty years since the Gun Websites crew first covered the show in 2005. The 47th show brought more than 2,700 exhibitors and nearly 14 miles of aisles to the Venetian Expo and Caesars Forum. The crew previewed the new firearms before the show, recorded a walking audio tour of the floor, went live with a day two update, and looked back at two decades of SHOT Show in a 20 year retrospective.

SHOT Show 2025 History

The 47th SHOT Show ran January 21 to 24, 2025, the 26th SHOT Show held in Las Vegas. NSSF counted more than 2,700 exhibitors including the Suppliers Showcase and its more than 500 material suppliers, more than 816,000 net square feet, about 18 acres, and 13.9 miles of aisles, with more than 2,500 members of the media covering the show.

The Law Enforcement section alone had grown to more than 170,000 square feet, up from about 7,000 when it started more than 20 years earlier, a good measure of how much the show had changed since the first Gun Websites visit in 2005.

Our Take on SHOT Show 2025

Twenty years in, the biggest change is not any one gun. It is how the show works. In 2005 the show was a place to see new products in person before they reached magazines months later. By 2025 most launches were online the morning they were announced, and the value of being on the floor was the people: the meetings, the interviews and the chance to put hands on a product and ask the engineer who designed it.

That is why the crew’s 2025 coverage mixed live updates with long form looks back, and why the walking audio tour, simply the sound of the aisles, says as much about SHOT Show as any product list.
