Arizona’s seventh annual Celebrate and Protect the 2nd Amendment rally met on the Capitol lawn in Phoenix on February 15, 2020, in the middle of the biggest wave of Second Amendment rallies in years. The Gun Websites crew made the drive up and back, sewed rally tabs for the season, and drew portraits of the Arizona 2A Rally speakers live afterward.

Arizona 2A Rally History

The Arizona rally is held each February during the legislative session. In 2020 it was part of a national wave that started with the Virginia rallies in January, when tens of thousands of gun owners showed up in Richmond, and spread to state capitols from New Mexico to New Hampshire. Weeks later, COVID-19 shut down large gatherings and the rally season moved online.

Our Take on Arizona 2A Rally 2020

2020 was the year rallies became a movement of their own. The crew counted at least 31 Second Amendment rallies planned that winter and spring, and the Arizona rally, already in its seventh year, was a model for states holding their first.
